Your Shaklee Business Can Make a Difference!
It has always been really important to me that our three sons be able to choose their colleges and to graduate with as little debt as possible.
Several years ago, when our oldest son was looking at schools, I was restarting our Shaklee business after being away from it for fourteen years. I wrote down, “paying for college with my Shaklee earnings” as one of my goals. We hadn’t been able to save any money for this expense (boy – do the years fly by!). Since we had just built our new home, we didn’t have a lot of equity in it, so that wasn’t going to help much. I told Erik to select the college of his choice and then said to myself, “I will find a way to pay for it.” He chose St. Olaf College, a private, liberal arts school in our hometown of Northfield. Even though he would be right in town, he still wanted to live on campus.
I arranged for the monthly payments to be taken out of our Shaklee checkbook, and that’s how it started. Through Erik’s four years at St. Olaf; Scott’s four years at Carleton College; and Matt’s first two years at St. Olaf; there has been enough money each month in our Shaklee checkbook to cover the expenses.
In two years when Matt graduates and after we’ve paid off one $50,000 parent loan, we will have paid over $200,000 in college expenses for our three sons at private liberal arts colleges from our Shaklee checkbook!
Our two grandchildren, Blake and Paige, and any others that come along, will be next. In just eleven short years the Shaklee checkbook will again be put to the good use of paying for a loved one’s college education. I can’t think of anything more satisfying than this.
